Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if the artists do it gratis as they get good publicity, but I'd be shocked if Geldof didn't get expenses paid.
Just because 100% of the money goes to the chairty, it doesn't mean 1005 of the money goes to the people in need.

George Osborne has waived any tax so BG was saying.
The implication is that the Stars paid their own travel etc expenses and studio time was donated. I don't know if that is true.
I guess the stars reckon they can do some PR and sell their own records & tours by association.

I have no problem with Geldof or the band Aid thing at all.
I have no doubt that his intentions are good and honourable and there is no doubt that he has done some remarkable good in his lifetime.
